Thursday Afternoon ~ Hola Otra Vez Marilyn ~
Hell. do we gotta be techno-experts just to assure our right to vote and that our act of voting really gets counted!? We need to expose the darkness of evils to the light of truth. However, look at how much has been exposed about the Bush Regime without any real uproar by the general public as it goes to and fro, maybe stopping off at BlockBusters to rent some DVD-distractions while others elsewhere are worried around running into IEDs!/p> To me, Elections are mainly real opportunities for community education, not counting on elections for ultimate victory. What has changed the last few decades, the last hundred years?
We will need to do deprogramming on our returning 'war heroes' ~~ the new Amerikan mercenary veterans ~ before they go psychotic and wipe some of us out in the name of collateral damagen, then, blame it in court facing murder charges on PTSD. You know, the guys with the guns instead of brains. Our new breed of fascist inspired mercenaries.
PTSD Prevention Hint: Do not participate in an unjust war and especially do not kill anyone when you are on the wrong side in an unjust war and expect to come out of it all without wounds, including mental-spiritual wounds, mental derangement.
I am with Malcolm X, it is the ballot of the bullet! Most likely it will all degenerate down to flying bullets, inner-city street battles, random drive-by shootings by police and thugs, the outbursts of homemade bombs, creaky doors being kicked in, shack-to-shack searches, village innocents being slaughtered, gun battles in the middle of the night, the constant commonness of death. All-out civil war inside the United States!
It will be a real colorful 'life' movie! Plenty of color and body parts to spare!
We are seeing previews in Iraq right now. Amerika cannot forever escape its own evil karma, karma is a bitch and karma always catches up in the end!
I always like to hear this Speech by Malcolm X around Election Time to keep elections stuff in their proper perspective:

Hell. I actually think I am a Chicano conservative! It is just that others are so damn passive and take it in the ass or the pocket book without a complaint that makes me seem radical only in comparison. Go figure!
We can change consciousness, elevate consciousness and expand consciousness, but there is nothing like armed conflict to stir things up. Perfect disorder!
The pigs know we're coming and they already know who is who and where we are. No use hiding and for some of us it is too late to hide anyway. I love that song by Kenny Loggins, ‘I Am Not Hiding’. Some are gonna have to stick their neck out even if their head gets blown off. These are not the times for cowards. So being frozen in paranoia is plain stupid and indicative of the repressed mind. Indeed, fascist repression is already here now!
Sometimes history does repeat itself, though not in the identical way. We will be faced with the battles that were avoided in the 60's and 70's. Only some of the Black Panthers had the balls to shoot back, some of the Weatherpeople, a few AIM Members and very few others. Legally, we always have the right to self-defense when we are in fear of death or great bodily harm. I just pray it will be selected and targeted, not random and arbitrary. I suspect there will be scattered skirmishes along the U.S.-Mexican border. It is going to be a mass mess!
We will never succeed until we fully accept the fact that our enemies are aware, determined, scientific and mercilessly counter-revolutionary. It is the fascist nature to take down all and everything s/he can if s/he is going down and that includes the whole human race IF possible... and it is quite possible keeping in mind the WMDs in the hands of the fascist regime.

People are asleep in terms of being wide awake to what is really going on in the name of the great Amerikan people and it has not just been Chicanos. Actually, Mexicanos have been the most awake and functional among Latinos. One has the tendency to stay awake when always being in danger of deportation from one‘s comfort zone!

~Hola Marilyn ~ Good to know you are still out there! I think what it confirms to me means more than what it means in itself.
Hell, the fact that we are in 2006 and Booby Jr. comes out with this now must mean something. Talk about delayed responses! I found the printer-friendly version from the Rolling Stones link, will give it a good read and blog it out later.

I want to go out to Loaves & Fishes to get a reality check.

If we are awake, we can plainly see that we are in the iron grips of a vast fascist Empire that shapes public opinion via the MSM (Main Stream Media) when it wants, throws elections when it wants, grabs civilians and hides them in secret prisons when it wants, condones the massacre of women and children when it wants or hides those facts rather than admits it out of control, it starts wars with tax-payers' dollars when it wants that it can't afford, tramples on the U.S. Constitution when it wants, and by its actions tells sleep-walking Americans:

It's not so clear to me that the grip is iron. It could be very tenuous. Since the grip relies on rigging elections, reliable elections is all it takes. Americans didn't choose this fascist government. Our system has been hijacked by thugs.
What amazes me is that people actually voted in that election. The election equipment manufacturers, all republicans, promised, before the election, to deliver the election to Bush. Why would someone add their vote to that fraud, giving it more credibility? And in California, because of the electoral college system, our vote counts1/6 as much as a voter in Wyoming. There is no dignity in participating in this system.
We have long lost our dignity.
So, how do we "fix it"? Understanding election technology would help a lot. Even the respected "Computer Professionals for Social Responsibility" group only mimics the words and sentiments of the public press, which is totally ignorant.
I'll work on it.

Response:
"Now what the hell are you going to do about it? Just what we thought... Nothing! Just play stupid, shut the fuck up and go back to sleep!!!"
For me the idea behind even participating in electoral politics is to exhaust all legal peaceful means in order to help raise the people's consciousness 'in the process' of liberation, to have the people see that even if we get a majority of the vote the Establishment will still rig the whole damn election results anyways.
The people must learn through their own direct personal experiences the validity of any revolutionary thrusts.
It is hoped they are guided into those experiences by intelligent leaders who understand the role of force in history, but don't hold your little breath waiting for any Messiah!
Plus, we want to wake up those who are dead asleep, to fully wake up those who have started to stir from their deep slumber, then, once they are wide awake feed their consciousness with liberating ideas and ideals.
I am convinced that many people do not want to really wake up as HELL that would mean they would have to go out and actually do something about the situation in the nation. Some even pretend to be asleep... less stress despite internal guilt pangs.
It has been noted before that the oppressed suffer from the contradiction of having a desire for and fear of freedom. Some will settle for a lunch ticket, a stolen blanket and place to crash in the bushes at night. Some will settle for a night of whoring and partying after slaving all week {praying they haven't gotten AIDS by someone whose face and name they forget". Some will settle for the false escape of dope and booze {forms of suicidal behavior}. Some will settle for a piece of the putrid pie or a piece of ass on a lazy morning.
The people must be presented with a coherent strategy and applicable set of tactics that correspond to the connected reality before them. Where are we going and how do we propose to get there? What happens when we are faced with fences, obstacles and challenges and ? Do we roll over, give it up and die? Or do we search each other out over the ruins and melt into the night to plan our next ambush?!?!
Recall: "... after the strategy is understood by the guerrilla chief, the tactics applicable to his particular military problems "are a product of imagination alone," a constant creative imrovising."
So let us be inventive with our imaginations..... Love, Peta
