FYI: Womens Empowerment Graduates 600th Formerly Homeless Woman Tomorrow

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Gracias ~ Thanks Lisa for the reminder! I have already had a few of the
graduates for tomorrow remind me and am looking forward to it all!
The various social issues that result in many women becoming homeless are
complex and intertwined. Each has their true story to share and tell.
Building up a dignified quality of self-esteem is naturally a key part of
empowering anyone who has suffered from negative social conditions.
Wednesday will be 9-09-09 and that seems somehow significant!

Plus, on Thursday there will be a

Peaceful SafeGround Rally at Sacramento City Hall
10 AM on Thursday, September 10, 2009

Graduation

Women's Empowerment Graduates 600th Formerly Homeless Woman Tomorrow

We have reached a major milestone! Tomorrow, we will graduate the 600th woman from our program.  Our first class was held in 2001, graduating just 10 women. Since that first pilot class, Women's Empowerment has expanded to become this year's Nonprofit of the Year, and now, we watch the 600th formerly homeless woman step up to the podium to share her story of change.

She will be joined by 22 other women receiving certificates of completion tomorrow, Wednesday, September 9 at 10:00 A.M. The ceremony is free and open to the public. Please join us to hear their stories! Address and details can be found on our website:

Get Your Tickets: Annual Gala is October 1st

Please join us for a joyful celebration of independence on Thursday, October 1 at 5:30 P.M. for our annual Gala. Tickets are selling quickly, and the RSVP deadline is next week: September 15. Individual tickets are $65. To sponsor a table (10 seats), the price is $650. Or, you can sponsor a graduate to attend for $65. To reserve your seat:

The annual Gala differs from our smaller graduation ceremony. The Gala allows an opportunity for more than 100 former graduates of our program to come together with nearly 400 community members for a formal dinner, live auction, and music from Midtown Jazz. This is an opportunity to learn about the hidden affects of the economy on the women graduating our program, and for me to share our bold plans to provide solutions. We hope you can join us!

Sincerely,

Lisa
